Take a close look the patchwork is just an array of the same sized triangles with an amazing combination of printed fabrics (including what looks to a black cotton brocade). Pattiy specially cut and placed each patchwork piece to give the watercolor like effect. Exceptional quilting done with colored cotton embroidery floss (with the coloring of quilting thread different from triangle to triangle to pick up colors in the different pieces). Truly amazing appliqué work with colors wonderfully orchestrated by quilt designer Dolores Yoder. The appliqué work and sashes are made with batik style color fast cotton prints, and are set off against the rustic (but soft and smooth) cream cotton muslin background fabric. Delores made the top and a Lancaster Amish woman did the quilting. Dolores signed her name and the year (2006) in embroidery on the front of the quilt near one of the corners. Will make a wonderful bed quilt for a king size bed, or a fantastic wall hanging!
