Pastel Boston Commons Quilt(hs1277)
87 inches wide by 104 inches long
In the 1930's, seed company's promoted their seed by packaging it in pretty printed cotton sacks. The farmer's wives would often use the fabric from these sacks to make quilts. The fabrics selected for this quilt are similar to the prints used in those old seed sacks. Beside the great fabric this quilt also has a lot of great quilting! Note the careful piecework and the straight uniform stitching. Also note that this quilt may be used sideways on a king size bed. Made by a Lancaster County Amish woman.
