Great coloring and design! A very special small quilt recently made by an elderly Amish woman with old wool fabric (some recovered from old Amish clothing). In the 19th and early 20th Centuries the Amish routinely made their quilts with woolen fabrics. The lack of availability of new woolen fabric has led to cottons being almost exclusively used in quilts made now. Here is your chance to own a bit of history! Well made (great quilting!) here in Lancaster by an Amish woman. Note that this quilt has very thin batting as is seen in antique Amish quilts.

A charming classic Amish quilt. In spite of its simplicity and elegance we see few quilts made today incorporating the Shoo Fly block design. The border and sashes are black. Note the nice quilting. Made by Amish woman in her own home. Big enough to be used as a throw, quilt for a mall bed, or a dramatic wall hanging.

An exceptionally fine Lone Star with wonderful fabrics and much smaller patchwork pieces than a standard Lone Star. Very good piecing and stitching by its local Amish woman maker. Border is dark purple, corner squares black, sash dark green and center fill Navy blue. Includes sleeve for a hanging rod.
