A stunning bold applique quilt with terrific fabric selection. Note the excellent applique work and lovely quilting. The design appears to be a variation on the old Harrison Rose Urn design that originated in Indiana in the 1860s. Well made by local Amish woman.
A single sheet of solid white cotton muslin covers the back of the quilt. The quilting density is good, averaging about 100 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The stitching is good with about 6 to 7 stitches per inch. A high quality quilt.

Gorgeous original design by C Jean Horst. Note how Jean has captured not only the shape of the poppy flowers, but the stems and leaves as well! Even the poppy coloring is similar to that of the poppies one sees in Flanders fields. The quilting between the poppies is especially attractive. Made here in Lancaster, quilted by an Amish woman. Copyright pattern -- directions are unavailable.
