A quiet bright quilt with the "Basket" block pattern first used by the Amish here in the 1930's. Note how effectively the printed fabric is used in the patchwork. On first glance, one gets the impression many printed fabrics have been used! The piecing is well done and the stitching is very good. Note also how the pillow fold has been incorporated into the design. It is signed and dated by its maker on r=the quilt back with embroidery!
The back of this quilt is covered with a single sheet of fine white fabric. The quilting that echoes the basket and the quilting features between the baskets are attractive. The quilting density is good, averaging about 100 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The stitching is very good with 7 to 8 stitches per inch. A high quality quilt.
