Cross Stitch Quilts were commonly made a hundred years ago, but are rarely made today. The cross stitched Tree of Life on this quilt is ethereal, almost misty. While the threads (reds, greens and blues) are fully saturated colors, the overall effect is pastel. More quilts like this should be made! This quilt started as a kit that Hannah improved on by changing the thread colors and by adding a border (a navy print). An exceptional and unusual quilt with an abundance of quilting.

The back of the quilt is covered with solid white fabric. The quilting density is very good, averaging about 175 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The stitching is outstandingly uniform with very tiny stitches (6 stitches per inch). Note the distinctive blue quilting thread. A high quality quilt.
