Here is a beautiful King size Trip Around the World quilt. This pattern is similar to the Postage Stamp quilts that have 36 fabrics and patches cut and sewn leaving a 1 " block. This Colorsplash quilt is using 24 fabrics, cut and sewn so each block is 1 1/2" square making this more economical to make. What a beautiful slate blue and gold vintage combination of 24 different fabrics selected by C Jean Horst. Made by a local Amish woman -- note the careful patchwork piecing and the fine quilting. This quilt is symmetric meaning all borders are equal on all 4 sides. Makes a stunning quilt to hang.
A golden tan print cotton covers the back of the quilt. The quilting density is more than adequate, averaging about 75 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The stitching is very good with about 8 stitches per inch. The back corner tag has the documentation recorded of the name of the pattern, the maker, the fabric content, the area, and a note about made in America. This is a beauty! A high quality quilt.
