Currently our only Twin size quilt! A very popular pattern book displays a lovely cottage in Ireland with an Irish Chain quilt in front. It brings to mind coziness, but there is some uncertainty whether the picture could be an example of another romantic myth or if the pattern truly came from Ireland. Current documentation of the Irish Chain Quilt pattern indicates that is was developed in American in the early 1800's. It may be popular because it displays a nice solid space between the chains to admire the maker's needlework skills. Here you can see the lovely hand quilting done in the feather circle designs which we all love and makes this quilt so attractive - shown best on corner thumbnail. The fabrics are 100% quality quilter's cottons and the stitches measure 8 stitches per inch.
The quilt backing is beautiful large print that is the coordinate with the greens sewn into the top side. The back corner tag documents the name of the quilt and the information. All fabrics are selected by Lancaster's quilt designer, C Jean Horst and hand quilted by our Amish friends. A high quality quilt.
